The Lewis County, Washington Jail Roster is a public resource that allows anyone to check who is currently in custody at the county jail. LewisCourt.us helps quickly find publicly available information about current and recently arrested individuals. Additionally, data can be obtained through the official Lewis County Jail website, by visiting the facility in person, or by calling. The roster is maintained by the corrections department at the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and is regularly updated. The search allows you to learn about custody status, charges, and bail amount — it is a transparency tool available online 24/7.
Search Current Inmates in Lewis Jail

Find Lewis Jail Booking Records Online
A booking record is created when a person is officially admitted to the jail. This occurs after an arrest: staff record personal information, take photographs, fingerprints, and enter information into the system.
Each record contains:
- A unique booking number
- Date and time of admission
- Charges filed
- Arresting agency (city police, state patrol, sheriff's office, etc.)
- Type and amount of bail
- Assigned court and payment agency
Online access to these records is provided by the Lewis County Jail bookings page. It lists recent arrivals with all the main fields indicated.
If you need a record that is no longer displayed on the site, submit a public records request. The sheriff's office public records officer accepts requests by email at publicrecords@lewiscountywa.gov or by phone at (360) 740-2674. More details are available on the sheriff's records request page. Access to public records is governed by the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56).
Search the Lewis Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number
The Lewis County Jail website offers two main ways to find an inmate.
Search by Last Name
The roster is organized alphabetically. Open the full inmate list and scroll to the desired letter or use Ctrl+F in your browser. Enter the last name exactly — the system does not support fuzzy search. If you are unsure of the spelling, try several variations.
Search by Booking Number
Each inmate is assigned a numerical identifier. If you know it, finding the record is much easier — the number is unique and eliminates confusion with namesakes.
If the Search Yields No Results
- Check the spelling of the first and last name.
- The person may have already been released — the roster only shows those currently in custody.
- There may be a delay between the actual arrest and the appearance of the record in the system.
- If the person has been transferred to a state facility, use the Washington Department of Corrections inmate search.
- To check court cases statewide, use the Washington State Courts name and case search.
Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Lewis
The Lewis County Jail updates its online roster regularly, but the site explicitly states: the facility does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of the information provided. In practice, this means several things.
Delays between arrest and appearance in the roster. The booking process — photographing, fingerprinting, data entry — takes time. A recently arrested person may not appear on the list for several hours.
Disappearance of records after release. The roster shows only those currently in custody. Once a person is released, their name is removed from the list. This is not an archive of all past bookings.
Data entry errors. A last name may be recorded incorrectly or in a different spelling. If you are sure the person should be in jail but cannot find them online — call directly.
To obtain historical records or documents not available in the online roster, submit an official Lewis County public records request. The county uses the GovQA platform to process such requests. And if you need information about a person's criminal history — this is a separate procedure carried out by the Washington State Patrol.
